The gridview fired event rowupdating which wasnt handled

I'm using ASP and have a Grid View inside a Data List Edit Item Template.I want to be able to select/edit items in the nested gridview. What I learned through this is that the select’s change event is only fired when the user changes the selection, not when it’s done through Javascript, so the postback never occurred. [More] A couple of weeks ago I posted an article on creating a dynamic button in an ASP. The one aspect of that solution that wasn’t quite as clean as I would have liked is how the data key for the button that was clicked was determined. To remedy that, I’ve created a custom server control that inherits from Link Button, but provides some customization for this particular application. Please join our friendly community by clicking the button below - it only takes a few seconds and is totally free. You'll be able to ask questions about coding or chat with the community and help others.

The Grid View 'Grid View1' fired event Sorting which wasn't handled. The simplest solutions for this error is : Just change the “Command Name” property of the “Edit” button from “Edit” to “Edit Row”(or something else which is relevent to you but make sure it is not “Edit”). After scratching my head for sometime I found that the words like “Edit” are reserved to invoke some built in functionality of the Grid View.So when we use these special key words as the Command Name for the buttons in the Grid View, they automatically invoke the built in functionality of the Grid View when we click on the button.“Select” – Raises the Selected Index Changing and Selected Index Changed events. “Update” – Raises the Row Updating and Row Updated events.I have a Gridview on an ASP page bound to an SQL table.
